Ceramic Tile

“Slip Carving” is what Tammy calls this technique she has developed.

Raw clay is carved at the leather-hard stage. Once the tile is dry, multiple layers of colored clay are applied on top of each other. The tile is bisque fired so it is hard. Then the magic happens as Tammy sands down through the layers to reveal the image. Lastly, clear glaze brings out the bright colors of the low fire clay.

Hand Cut and Hand Shaped

Precision brings intrigue and perfection to any design. Tiles that fit a space exactly make a harmonious visual statement. Tammy has developed a wide range of earth tone colors in the high fire range of glazes. These glazes are well suited for projects that require high durability.
